2Dcube earned his first place in the Cage Match Hall of Fame last week, with a triumphant win for Karoshi Factory. The runner-up in the third YoYo Games competition came from behind to take the lead and win the Cage Match 49-44 against Black Hide by KingDiz. We can now say that arguably the most famous modern GM user is now in the Hall of Fame!

This was probably Karoshi Factory’s toughest match and for good reason too. Black Hide is a quite immersive game that aims to scare the life out of you. I think Black Hide definitely appealed to gamers who like shooting games or games that aren’t platformery and cute. That’s where I think Black Hide got some votes. Also, I’d assume that quite a few people really didn’t want Karoshi Factory to go into the Hall of Fame; you could say that it isn’t the best, gameplay wise. Maybe 2Dcube has got half of the GMC in hypnosis - who knows. Some of the reasons not to vote for Black Hide mentioned were the fact that the game had a few flaws and you have to admit that the game did have some annoying points. You could tell that the game was made in an older version of GameMaker - maybe it was the lighting effects that I just didn’t like the look of at all. Another reason people didn’t vote for Black Hide was because the game was pretty slow and there wasn’t much action going on. I have to say that the game did seem a little sluggish and it got a bit boring, while Karoshi Factory was full of nice, bright challenges.

With Karoshi through to the Hall of Fame, this left the road open for two new entrants. The selected games were Shoot 2008 by Erik Leppen, the winner of the third YoYo Games competition and George W Bush, a hilarious (to some) game created by TheMordeus. At the time of writing, Shoot 2008 is dominating the Cage Match. It appears most people didn’t see the funny side of GWB, or simply that most people thought Shoot 2008 was a brilliant game.
